Please protect yourselves

So, standard disclaimer: Am not a lawyer and for legal questions, please refer to a member of the law profession in your area. Your mileage may vary and details may vary from state to state or country to country.
TLDR; Protect yourselves and make an effort to understand your rights. Consult a lawyer or law enforcement in your area for specific details.
I can’t believe I’m writing this, but I figure with everything going on, it’s worth a shot.
Please protect yourselves online.
1) Please use very strong passwords that vary from site to site. A strong password (for the few who may not know) is at least 8 characters with at least a capital letter, a number and a symbol. This should not be things like: pet’s name, your name, any variation of “password”, any variation of “admin”, any variation of “change me”, your SSN, your child’s name, your birthdate, your occupation (i.e. “policeman1234”) or anything that would uniquely identify you. The longer, the better and the less obvious, the better. You can also double or triple up on the password, but this is not ideal. A longer password will take longer for even a brute force, computer driven attack.
2) Please use unique logins for things you do not want to be associated. If you’re using “legale_eagle3222” everywhere, it will associate your Facebook, your social media, your IG, your Reddit, etc. Ideally, you’d have a unique ID everywhere, but let’s face it, that’s a bear to keep up with.
3) If you login anywhere with your Facebook or Google or XXXX login rather than the native login scheme, then you will have the probability that your traffic is tagged and collected and collated AND SHARED with every company out there. There is also the possibility that if your Google/Facebook/etc is hacked, then the hacker can get in everywhere you use that as your login.
4) Most every site has a Terms of Service (TOS) that states that you have to be 13 or older. This is (In the USA) because of COPPA—the Child Online Privacy Protection Act. This states (among other things) that if a site collects data (and most of them do), then they cannot collect on a “child” which is defined as a person 12 or below. The gist is that if you direct your content to children, you have to either get and maintain parental consent or you cannot collect on the user. Now, this impacts advertisements and info sharing, which is how sites get a large part of their revenue because an ad that is shown based on your choices and preferences is more income vs an ad shown generically. If I look up “firm ripe tomatoes” and get 2 ads—one for tomato fertilizer and one for learning German online—then the tomato fertilizer ad will generate more revenue than the learning German online ad. For a child who looks up “Undertale”, companies are supposed to not show directed ads (such as for Undertale merchandise) and if they do track every user, the site must get parental consent to collect.
Most sites will do a simple age gate—“Are you sure you’re old enough to see this?”—and a button agreeing. This is a bit of a legal sticking point because age gates have no way to determine if the person is actually 13 or 18 or whatever, which is where the law could be used to say “You are in violation of tracking regulations”. And if a device is passed from person to person (i.e. parent to child), then the consent from the parent can be in doubt.
At any rate, the Terms of Service generally will have buried somewhere that violating the terms of service (such as being too young) absolves the company/site from any damages. So, if you violate the terms of service by logging in without being of age and get (for example) a virus, then since you violated the Terms of Service, you are not entitled to any damages or holding the site responsible. READ THE TERMS OF SERVICE BECAUSE THAT IS THE GOVERNING DOCUMENT IF YOU NEED TO SEEK DAMAGES.
4) Please turn off location services if you don’t need them. Not sure when this started (and don’t care), but photos and services began logging in your geographical stats and the date/time. This means that anyone getting that photo can potentially get the exact location of where a picture was taken and when it was taken. Facebook had a program that would track your runs and bike trips and then post the information—Hey, I did 10 miles today. Obviously, this turns your run into a step-by-step target of where you are and where you’re likely to be. So, turn off your location services when you don’t need them—photos, Apple GameCenter, Facebook, etc.
5) Please go to your social media’s security and restrict the contents appropriately. Maybe not everything needs to be available to the public. Maybe only family needs to see the baby pictures. Don’t assume that the companies are going to protect you—by default most sites will set you to wide open for public consumption. Some companies will maintain your security settings so you don’t have to reset every week, but things change and you will need to check from time to time to maintain your privacy. Specifically, try to restrict how much the site tries to “help” by tagging your photos or trying to match you with other people via algorithms and face matching.
6) Please clean out your cookies and browser history regularly. Sites will use cookies to help track you from virtual place to virtual place. They will also try to use session tracking by assigning you a session ID. Using “incognito” mode will help, but you can set most browsers to clear your history when you close the browser. Everyone from airlines to hotels to Google will read those cookies and will try to monetize them. It’s how the airline knows you’ve searched for tickets to New Hampshire for a week and they will adjust their prices based on those searches.
7) Please read privacy policies. Privacy policies are there to tell you how they will use the information that they collect. Now, they are long and filled with legalese, but it’s worth being sure you understand what they will do. If there is medical information potentially involved, it is vital that they tell you how they intend to share the information. HIPPAA (In the USA) will dictate how they can share your medical records, so it is vital to understand privacy policies.
8) Please check the email addresses for every suspicious email you get. We will all get spam—not gonna argue—but lots of people will try to spoof Apple or your bank or your company in order to get you to log in. If you get an email “helpfully” giving you a link and instructing you to go login for whatever reason (usually “security” reasons such as to “confirm your account”), then go to the site itself and do not follow the link. For your bank and school, call them directly. A legit system admin will never need you to send them your login and password.
9) Please use HTTPS for sensitive information such as banking or loan information or login to sites. You can usually find a locked padlock on the browser if HTTPS has been set up correctly. If that lock icon is open or yellow/red (browsers have different icons), then do not use that site to login.
10) Please take very great care in photographing yourself and your friends. Totally on board with “wow—look at this dress” or “watch me play my guitar” or “my favorite skateboard trick”. It is a lot of fun to connect virtually and especially when we cannot hangout together, but sending photos is getting more risky. Facial recognition is growing and pasting people’s faces on other people’s bodies is getting easier. (Hence all the celebrity look alike porn.) Now, your SO or fans or whatever might be 100% awesome people—not making a judgement there either. There are some things to consider. If you are under legal age (whatever that might be for your jurisdiction AND the site’s Term of Service) and take/send nude or suggestive pictures, that may fall under child pornography laws. If I as a 15 year old take a nude photo to send to my boyfriend, I have produced child pornography in my area. If I send that nude photo, I have transmitted child pornography. Now, in this example, I am consenting and presumably this hypothetical boyfriend is consenting, but child porn is still child porn and carries strict punishment. Revenge porn is only recently becoming illegal, so check your local regulations and laws.
11) Please take doxing seriously. So, someone found out your information. Please take it seriously. Report it. If someone knows personally identifying information, they can not only humiliate you online, but it can be used to find out more information. If I have a valid address, I can not only find someone, I can direct mail to them (mail fraud, btw) or direct mail away from them. I can build an identity and potentially steal that information to run up credit cards and medical debt.
FOR MINORS, this is especially important because in the USA, a minor cannot report erroneous credit (such as credit cards in your name) and a minor cannot freeze their credit reports so that the information cannot be used. In addition, medial fraud can go on for years and be impossible to remove from your record. Your credit can be ruined as a minor and you can then be denied apartment leases, home buying, student loans.
12) Please learn your region’s reporting requirements. Who do you report internet crimes to? The FBI, DHS and other groups have good reporting tools.
13) Please be careful of public internet such as Internet cafes or free WiFi. This is handy, not gonna lie, but these places are rife with hackers and people who are listening to the traffic for their own purposes. Switch to HTTPS and avoid things like banking and credit inquiries/loan applications in those locations.
Schools generally have the right to monitor and block objectionable traffic in most instances. So do places like libraries. In a home, objectionable traffic can be monitored and blocked by the individual ISP and by whoever owns the account with the ISP.
14) Please be careful of the information you are asked and how it may be used. Not all sites need everything—even if they ask for it. Also, you do not need to answer explicitly for “security questions”. A website that is asking for your mother’s maiden name as a password recovery setup will not check that “Issac Newton” is not really your mother. Your favorite pet’s name can be Splinter or OakTree. Your favorite job title can be “WitchfinderPulsifer”. Your best friends can be “Aziraphale” or “Crowley”. Your mother can be Rainbow Brite. Your school can be Hogwarts. The idea is that someone else will not be able to crack the security and change your password or security information by knowing basic information about you. Legitimate profile information should be covered by the privacy policies and TOS as to how it is stored and how they are going to be used.
15) Please note that everything you do likely will be around a loooooong time on the Internet. By design, the Internet uses caching (kind of an in-memory record of data) to shorten load times. If I created a page in 1990, then the caches and storage of that page may still be around, despite the actual website being taken down and the hardware being scrubbed. This means if you post something, chances are good that it will be stored in other places than the website you put it on. So, if you take down that website, the caches will still have it and the request for that website will potentially find it before the word gets around that you’ve deleted the site. And that’s not counting the lead time between when I request the site go down and the site is actually removed, whether or not Facebook/Pinterest/etc has taken photos or recorded my post.
The practical upshot is that basically, the Internet lives forever. This means that future employers can (and will!) find it. This means that future opportunities such as potentially college applications and graduate applications and so on can (and will!) find it. Law enforcement. The list goes on and on and—professionally—the number of companies doing social media searches is growing. This can be good—your epic fan fiction, your video of winning the rowing competition, etc—or it can be bad. Or mixed. So, the idea of a barrier of separation—a different email and username for example—between the stuff you want grandma and your boss to see is important.
16) Please keep your computers, devices and hardware up to date on security patches and virus scans.
17) Please check the laws in your location. Please check the laws in your location. You may be required to reveal your social media in the event of a police investigation. You may be required to reveal online activities to an employer or to your school. I don’t know and am not a lawyer, so I cannot tell you what your area will require. Please check the laws in your location.
18) Please look out for each other. Do tell people if it looks like they are targeted. Do tell people if you see that they might be in danger. Do tell law enforcement if it looks like someone is crossing the border into danger.
19) Please do talk to law enforcement if someone is doxing or making threats. At least in my area, going online and making statements about attacking a person is “communicating threats” and is a crime by itself. Now, more than ever, people are taking these reports seriously as warning signs that someone can be in danger.
In my final opinion: Continue supporting each other. Spread positivity and support.

Our Step-by-step Guide To Optimizing Facebook For business

Hey what’s up everybody, and greetings from The Shire, My name is MMH, founder of https://TheOrganicMarketer.com and welcome back to The OTT Experiment!
So the big question here that the OTT experiment will be taking on is simply this — why pay for traffic that’s already there?
So how do entrepreneurs like us market in a way that lets us get our products and our services and the things that we believe in out of the world without having to run paid ads? In this experiment we will be building social media accounts from the ground up and providing daily actionable steps so you can follow along and see how this thing grows!
So let’s jump right in!
We probably don’t need to tell you that mastering Facebook marketing is a must for any brand that hopes to succeed in 2020 and beyond.
You already know that Facebook has a huge audience. A whopping 2.4 billion people use it every month.
But maybe you didn’t know how often people are using Facebook to interact with businesses of all sizes — two-thirds of Facebook users say they visit a local business Facebook Page at least once a week.
Potential customers are already looking for businesses like yours and mine on Facebook. A clear, focused Facebook marketing strategy is the only way to tap into this existing audience. As Facebook puts it, your Business Page is “a cornerstone of [your] online identity.”
Here is our step-by-step guide to optimizing Facebook for business
It doesn’t cost anything to set up & once you’ve created your Page, you can use it to post content, link to your website, and communicate with Fans and followers for FREE - my favorite word - which makes a Facebook Page or Group an incredibly valuable tool for any business or marketer working with a limited budget or no budget like us
So, the first step of mastering how to use Facebook for business is preparing your Facebook Page.

1. Create your Facebook Business Page

Next, enter your business information. For your page name, use your business name or the name people are likely to search for when trying to find your business.
For category, type a word or two that describes your business and Facebook will suggest some options. If your business falls into more than one of the category options, choose the one your customers are most likely to think of when they think about your business. We’ll show you how to add more categories later.
Once you choose your category, the box will expand to ask for a few further details, like your address and phone number. You can choose whether to make this information public, or to show only your city and state.
When you’re ready, By clicking continue, you are indicating your acceptance of Facebook’s Pages, Groups and Events Policies, so you might want to check those out before you proceed. But when you’re ready, click continue.

2. Add branding images

So It’s important to create a good visual first impression, so choose wisely here. Make sure the photos you choose align with your brand and are easily identifiable with your business.
Make sure to use the optimum image sizes for Facebook so they look their best. You can google these to get the best image size for each section.
So You’ll upload your profile image first. This image accompanies your business name in search results and when you interact with users. It also appears on the top left of your Facebook page.
Now it’s time to choose your cover image, the most prominent image on your Facebook business page.
This image should capture the essence of your brand and convey your brand personality.
Once you’ve selected an appropriate image, click Upload a Cover Photo and Ta-dah! You have a Facebook business page.
Now I made all of my images in Canva, it is one of my favourite FREE tools. If you don’t know what Canva is, I’ll pop a link in the show notes but basically Canva has templates that are already made to measure, so all you need to do is create!
3. Complete your Page info
While you might be tempted to leave the details for later, it’s important to fill out all of the fields in your Facebook Page’s About section right from the start.
To start filling out your business details, click Edit Page Info in the top menu. From this screen you can share all the important information about your business.

Description

This is a short description that appears in search results. It should be just a couple of sentences (maximum 255 characters), so there’s no need to get too elaborate here. We’ll show you where to add a longer description later.

Categories

Here you’ll see the category you entered in Step 1. If you like, you can add additional categories here to make sure Facebook shows your page to all the right people.

Contact

Add all the contact details you want to make public, including your phone number, website, and email.

Location

If you have a physical storefront or office, check to make sure that your location is marked correctly on the map. You can also add details about your service area, so people know, for example, which neighborhoods you deliver to.

Hours

If your business is open to the public during specific hours, enter those here. This information appears in search results.

Extra options

If relevant, enter your impressum, price range, and privacy policy link. An impressum is a legal statement of ownership, and it is generally only required in some European countries.
Click Save Changes under each section to implement your changes as you go.
Feel free to have a look at ours and model what you can.

4. Create your Facebook username (aka your vanity URL)

Now I’ve already done this but if you haven’t, this is pretty important. Your username helps people find you on Facebook. Click Create Page u/Username to make one. It can be up to 50 characters long. You want it to be easy to type and easy to remember. Your business name or some obvious variation of it is a safe bet.
Click Create Page u/Username in the left menu to set this up
Click Create Username when you’re done. A box will pop up showing you the links people can use to connect with your business on Facebook and Messenger. Now we will go deep into messenger another day but not today.

5. Add a call-to-action button

A call-to-action button gives people a quick and easy way to reach out to you, shop for your products, or otherwise engage with your business. Click Add a Button under your cover photo to set one up, add a url, link to a video, contact you, shop now — the options are many here so knock yourself out! Ours currently points to the create your login page for our FREE members area.
  1. Tell your story
You’ve filled in all the simple details about your business, but there’s not much here yet to tell people why they should engage with your business on Facebook.
Fortunately, there’s a section of your Facebook business page where you can add a longer description of your business. To access it, click See more in the left menu, then click About, and then click Our Story on the right-hand side.
In this section, you can add a detailed description of what your business offers customers and why they should Like or Follow your Page. This is a great place to set expectations. How will you interact with fans through your Facebook Page? Offer a compelling reason for them to stick around.
Enter a headline and text for your story, then upload a relevant photo. When you’re finished, click Publish.

7. Review your Facebook Page settings

Your Facebook Page settings give you custom control over who sees what on your page. Take a look to make sure you understand the privacy and security settings in particular.
That’s it! Your Facebook Page is set up and ready to go So feel free to publish your page!
Our page is live but we aren’t publishing posts yet — we’ve got a lot more accounts to get optimized before we dive straight in. But we will get to that very soon!
We want to make sure that whatever we post offers value for our visitors, so they’ll be inclined to stick around when we do.
So that’s facebook done! If I’ve missed anything or there’s something new I don’t know about — please let me know — I love to be educated!
Now let’s answer a question that came in over the weekend… How do we follow along?
OK, So I have something pretty cool for you! within the next few days I will be filling the members area with a few training courses to get you started. Now the great thing about this is, not only will I be putting my training in there as we go along, but I’ve spent the last few weeks securing the Master rights to most of the programs that I’ve done over the last 3 months. I couldn’t get all of them, but I’ve got most of them & I have so much content for you to get your hands on!
So these are programs that I have paid to take, and completed and now I have purchased the rights to all of these training courses so you can follow along! There’s podcast tutorials, , blogging essentials, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and hopefully even a TikTok course but I haven’t pinned that one down as of yet.
But there’s videos, checklists, mind-maps, email sequences, audio lessons, ebooks and much much more, all that good stuff and all for social media beginners and organic traffic beginners!
Now I have one hurdle, I’m not allowed to give it away for free.
So I’ve got it to as near to free as I can and will be charging just one dollar for all this content which will be available in the members area in the next few days — yes i did say $1. The members area is free to access but if you want the full content, it’ll be just one dollar to unlock all this juicy content. Nice, huh?
Now there’s 2 great things about that $1 deal
1) you’ll get lifetime access to all the programs in there
2) you’ll get access to all the fresh content before anyone else
So I think that’s fair, I want to give it to you for free but to be honest for a dollar, it’s an absolute steal! All you have to do is go to theorganicmarketer.com, login to the members area and wait for this super hot content to drop in the next few days!
And don’t forget to please share us with your friends, family, work colleagues, bosses, or a local business you may know that needs baby steps getting online. Let’s blow this experiment up! And remember, even though this is an experiment and sounds scientific, I promise absolutely no technobabble, just straight up easy to follow actionable content! Thanks for reading!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this episode and I would love for you to join the experiment! Please come and find us on social media u/theottmethod or join the facebook group the organic marketer (official) and if you want to access our super hot content just go to https://theorganicmarketer.com.

About 9gag content stealing

If you have't already, I think you should read this
it's 2 years old, but it gives some great insight to how bad of a problem this is.
9gag users aren't photoshopping the watermark out, it's probably staff.
Also, an important tidbit, words like "reddit" will make your comment not visible to other users, attempting to prevent you from calling out reposts.
Unfortunately, I have to repost it all here thanks that that thing that almost all subs do where you can link to anywhere on the internet but you have to pretend that the rest of reddit doesn't exist.
These are things I've observed in the last weeks, even months. I've been looking very closely at how, when and which submissions 9GAG steals. Today, I present my results.
UPDATE
I've edited my entire post. The 9GAG Administration is reacting to my creation and are observing the Hot / Trending page very carefully. They copy fewer submissions from reddit and give their copies realistic post times. The Trending[1] and Hot[2] page is being updated very slowly, which is very strange. Unless they are now missing the copies/reposts they usually take from other sites. Looks like I've caught the attention of the 9GAG bosses!
OBSERVATIONS
  • 9GAG does indeed steal submissions from other sites everyday. Sometimes up to 90% of the Hot or Trending page are reposts from reddit, their main source.
You should know this one by now.
  • 9GAG does not have automated scripts which steal your submissions. Everything is done by humans.
I don't know who came up with that idea that they made scripts, because it's just wrong. They have hired people to browse the biggest subreddits (such as /pics , funny , gaming , wtf , aww , f7u12 , adviceanimals , videos) and steal content. Day for day.
  • 9GAG staff visits sites like tumblr.com, funnyjunk.com, reddit()com and 4chan.org in order to identify threats and react correctly.
They are reading this right now. They do this since 4chan attacked their site. This will make most my links to 9GAG lead to 404 or redirect you to their index page.
  • When 9GAG steals a submission (from reddit), they rename the title and remove watermarks.
Proves that actual people are stealing our content. They have become pretty good at removing the reddit alien watermark from our rage comics and they will change our submission titles to "9GAG appropriate" ones. For example, they will replace the word "reddit" with "9GAG". Or rename "I have made this awesome cake" to "Awesome Cake" and "Look what I've found in Paris!" to "Genius graffiti from Paris" (they cannot be all over the world at the same time).
Bots cannot do this task. Only humans can.
*reddit is not the only site they steal from.
I have noticed they steal from other sites like tumblr and pinterest as well. Probably there are even more websites.
  • 9GAG fakes the submission times of stolen posts in order to make it seem like 9GAG is the original source.
Let's take a closer look at this one.
reddit post: [Link removed, because remember other subs don't exist]
9GAG post: http://9gag.com/gag/5259343[13]
reddit post time: 22 hours ago
9GAG post time: 23 hours ago
Now, it seems like it was posted on 9GAG before reddit! This is a witty trick from the 9GAG Administration. Let's find out by how many hours their post time has been manipulated. For this we take a look at the next post: http://9gag.com/gag/5259341 . Obviously this has been posted before http://9gag.com/gag/5259343 because the submission number is smaller. But when we look at the submission times, we see this...
http://9gag.com/gag/5259341 post time: 17 hours ago
http://9gag.com/gag/5259343 post time: 23 hours ago
When it should be reverse! Oh dear, what is this? Wizard magic? Or proof that 9GAG invented the time machine?!
*9GAG does not want their users to notice that their community is very restrictedly ruled by admins.
They're pretty good at hiding this. Their commenting system will automatically hide your comment if it contains the word "reddit" or "reddit()com", for example. It is only visible for yourself. Sign off Facebook and your comment will be gone.
They have taken other steps to make sure their users don't notice that most of the top 9GAG posts are stolen. They have removed the submission times from Hot / Trending, they have removed the Likes from user pages (except your own) - because bots can easily be spot since they have 0 likes - and they have removed comments from user pages because people would point out bots.
  • 9GAG "repost accounts" are easy to spot. If you know they exist.
Example "repost account": http://9gag.com/bananabirdie (Screenshot)
Take a look at his posts. Nearly every single one reached the Trending or Hot page (indicated by the high number of comments and likes). This is impossible, regular accounts look like this http://9gag.com/loninox[20] (Screenshot[21] ) and don't ever reach the Trending / Hot page. Not to mention with every single post.
Seems like they really don't want to make this go public. They also want to keep the stolen content. Everytime a "repost account" is discovered, they give it a new name. Repeat ad infinitum.
At first I thought they have created a script that automatically changes the accounts name after a certain amount of visits (let's say 100) use the referrer reddit()com (or 4chan.org, tumblr.com...). But I shouldn't give them ideas. The account I've mentioned in this image has been changed as well, so there are definitely people changing the accounts names. I have never linked it anywhere, nor has anyone else. The referrer is i.imgur.com and not reddit()com.
"repost accounts" usually have two words in their names, maybe one or two underscores, some random numbers before or after the name. They have made a name generator script only for this purpose.
CONCLUSIONS
  • The fact that 9GAG has to constantly steal content from other sites is only proof that 9GAG has the worst community ever. Even though 9GAG is the 268th most visited site on the planet their users cannot come up with their own funny content.
  • 9GAG seems to be based upon the idea that the administration steals content from other sites, as this old screenshot shows . It looks like they have always been stealing. Check how many posts have been posted by a user called "reddit". But now they have decided to hide the fact that they take their content from reddit.
  • 9GAG does not want people to know this. They've done several things to make their content theft go unnoticed.
FURTHER PROOF
If you still don't believe it, check out these administrator accounts. Look how all of their posts got massive votes and comments - something that is impossible to achieve without cheating the system.
Here 's [reddit post link removed]some proof that 9GAG reads even tiny subreddits like 9gag. They deleted the 9GAG account of this redditor shortly after he created his thread.
Humans make mistakes, and 9GAG staff are only humans. Here is a post they accidentally uploaded on their Trending page. 9GAG users didn't understand the joke and their mistake went viral on reddit. Then 9GAG found out and removed the post (...since they observe reddit). Lulz was had.
OTHER STUFF
(LINK ) (GAG ) (USER ) Let's see how long it takes for them to fix the issue.
The owner of this post is a "repost account". Watch how it changes as soon as it is being discovered:
  • http://9gag.com/applebumer IS A REPOST ACCOUNT! WE FOUND OUT, 9GAG! YOU BETTER DELETE IT, 9GAG STAFF, OR I WILL BE VERY ANGRY...*
  • Here is one of the oldest 9GAG accounts. Seems familiar?
List of repost accounts I've pointed out previously
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NOW
Either 9GAG stops stealing content from other sites using their evil system they have developped over time and leaves the content creation to their userbase
OR
they will make it even harder to detect stolen content, add more protection mechanisms and cover their tracks even better.
I recommend you go for the first option, dear 9GAG Admin who is reading this.
I apologize for my poor English skills. Feel free to copy this post. 9FAG_EXPERT out.

Newbie trying to build a data-entry script (Redbubble to Pinterest)

Hi there, first post here. First things first, I am not a programmer, I am just a copy paste junkie who manages to get a lot of stuff working by trial and error. I know it's not the best method, but I am primarily a visual artist and code is not really my thing. Sometimes I need to use it tho.
So, I know how to build a basic web scraper and I already can save images and links from my Redbubble account. I now would like to upload such pictures and their links to my Pinterest (I am talking hundreds of DIFFERENT items, so bulk pinner is not an option here).
I found this repository and decided to try it: https://github.com/cvhau/pinterest-client
But while trying to test the login to see if I could use it, I got this error:
Python 2.7.15+ (default, Nov 27 2018, 23:36:35) [GCC 7.3.0] on linux2 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> from pinterest import Pinterest >>> pinterest = Pinterest(username_or_email='obscured', password='obscured') >>> logged_in = pinterest.login() Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in  File "pinterest/Pinterest.py", line 109, in login r = self.get(self.home_page) File "pinterest/Pinterest.py", line 79, in get return self.request('GET', url=url, params=params, headers=headers, ajax=ajax, stream=stream) File "pinterest/Pinterest.py", line 70, in request files=files, timeout=60, proxies=self.proxies, stream=stream) File "/uslocal/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/requests-2.22.0-py2.7.egg/requests/sessions.py", line 533, in request resp = self.send(prep, **send_kwargs) File "/uslocal/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/requests-2.22.0-py2.7.egg/requests/sessions.py", line 668, in send history = [resp for resp in gen] if allow_redirects else [] File "/uslocal/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/requests-2.22.0-py2.7.egg/requests/sessions.py", line 165, in resolve_redirects raise TooManyRedirects('Exceeded %s redirects.' % self.max_redirects, response=resp) requests.exceptions.TooManyRedirects: Exceeded 30 redirects.
I can't afford to hire someone to build this kind of system for me, not right now at least. Maybe someone would be so kind to point me in the right direction to get this thing working? I'm not asking for a solution, but the repository owner is not responsive and I would need to finish this thing by the end of the week :/
Any help would be appreciated.

No luck on any of them. Any ideas about something to try? Thanks for your time.

Non-Registered Trademark Ownership

When I took a few Artistic Business classes, we went over US Intellectual Property law, however I think this goes beyond the scope of the issues we dealt with in there.
I started a YouTube Channel and Instagram under a specific username that I wanted to use as a brand name. I later created other accounts (FaceBook, Pinterest, Myspace, Webs, flickr, Tumblr, etc,) under this name, for this purpose. I also made a bunch of email accounts (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, Etc.) that all re-direct to one main one. I post semi-frequently/login on all of these accounts, the name is not currently registered with the USPTO, and before I started using it, it wasn't linked to anything on Google, Yahoo, or Bing either. If someone were to attempt to register this name for a similar idea, would I have a fair chance at fighting that I have ownership of the Trademark without federally registering it? I'm too broke to pay $400 to do so.
TL;DR: OP has a barely maintained shitty lifestyle vlog/blog. They made fourteen social media accounts using this trademark, and post just enough to be considered active. They used this trademark in 6 email addresses that all redirect to one main one. If someone else were to make a shitty lifestyle vlog/blog, could OP argue that they had it first?
Thank you!

Mark Zuckerberg's hacked password was "dadada"

This is an automatic summary, original reduced by 44%.
Mark Zuckerberg's Twitter and Pinterest accounts were hacked over the weekend.
The breach apparently happened after the Facebook boss's login details were exposed via the recent LinkedIn password dump.
A previously unknown prankster hacking group called Ourmine boasted about the alleged hacks, The hackers claimed that they found his password - dadada - in the LinkedIn dump.
Richard Parris, chief exec at digital identity firm Intercede, commented: "Reports that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's social media accounts have been hacked should concern us all. If Mr Social Media's accounts can be compromised, with all of the knowledge and resources he and his team have available, we should all be taking notice. In fact, we should all be very angry - the vast majority of the recently reported account compromises appear to relate to leaked usernames and passwords."
"It's been demonstrated time after time that the simple username and password combination is a fundamentally flawed approach to internet security, but that is typically all we are offered to protect our identity and our data," he added.
"The news that Mark Zuckerberg's Twitter and Pinterest accounts have been breached following the LinkedIn attack goes to show the serious extent to which password re-use, and simple forms of authentication, can have huge knock on effects to online security," Cox said.

Why do sites assume if you're not logged in then you must not have an account and need to create one?

It's just a little thing, but this annoys me. Why is it that sites assume that if you're not already logged into the site, then you must not have an account and need to create one? These sites give you the create account option first instead of the username/password login prompt, often times requiring a second click just to get the login prompt.
I imagine this is done under the assumption that users normally stay logged into sites for as long as possible so this should only be hit by new users and every once in a while by existing users when their sessions expire. But I don't stay logged into sites for any longer than necessary, often clear my cache/cookies, and frequently browse in Incognito mode in Chrome (thus getting a brand new session each time I browse). So I get these prompts every time I use an offending site.
This was just inspired by my experience with the Pinterest bookmarklet. Netflix used to be this way, but thankfully fixed this. I can't think of the other sites that do this off the top of my head right now, but it's happened to me enough times in enough places to really start to bug me.

Questions Answers
What are some steps one can take to prevent this sort of thing from happening? Thank you for asking this question. It's actually my main motivation for doing this AMA.
The answer is YES - I do. One thing to keep in mind is that if someone wants to stalk you - they will and they will do so easily through the internet. Even my parents who are basically nonexistent online have their names, ages, and home address posted online. But you also shouldn't go through life constantly worried that it will happen to you.
The best thing you can do is stay off of social networking sites, especially Facebook. Many of these sites haven't totally worked out their privacy stuff yet across devices - e.g. Myspace allowed my private blogs to become public if accessed through a smartphone. I know it's hard to get off these sites, but I haven't been on Facebook in 6 months and my social life has been unaffected, or else it has only forced me to be more social. I have learned the very very hard way how incredibly unsecure Facebook is--EVEN if you put your privacy settings at their highest. I was always ridiculously unsearchable, uncontactable from time I signed up. Where I went wrong was using a username (the facebook.com/___) that I used for other sites (so my stalker just typed it in and hoped for the best).
If you MUST use Facebook, make up a new username for your profile URL, use a pseudonym as your searchable name, and make up an email address to use just for that account. I would also encourage you not to post pictures of you or people you know in your main photo/cover photo. Also, make all your privacy settings "custom." Facebook logs the location of where you login from, so don't use facebook on your smartphone and never use "check-in" sites like Foursquare. Additionally, if you get a message from someone you don't know, do not respond to it. As soon as you respond, Facebook thinks that you are friends and starts to allow that person to see a log of your "activity" which includes comments on people's public images and walls. [All of this might be changed now, but it was true only 6 months ago)
If you use the same "username" or "screen name" across multiple accounts (blogs, magazine sites, social networking sites, dating sites, etc.) change them. As annoying as it is, make them ALL different. Keep a passworded record of them on a piece of paper next to your computer or something if you need to remember. Having the same username across accounts makes it very easy for people to track information about you across the internet.
As an academic - always give out your university email address (and nothing else as a point of contact) and only respond to emails you receive through your university address. If someone wants to start stalking your university email account, you can always get the university to change it.
I might add to this as I think of more things...
If you have any contact with the stalker, be very clear right up front that their behavior is unacceptable and that you do not want them to contact you any more. Sometimes people are just dense or socially dysfunctional to the point they don't realize that what they are doing is inappropriate. Yes - The first thing I did was tell the person that their messages were inappropriate and that I was reporting them to authorities. Then the first cop I spoke to had me send her a very direct message telling her to never contact me again or that I would have her arrested. It took 1.5 years, but I followed through on that.
Were you surprised that the stalker was female? From what i know most verb stalkers are male. I wasn't too surprised - I actually kept gender out of my assumptions during the entire 1.5 years. Most my friends and family assumed male, but I was always like "ehhh I don't know!"
I was skeptical because I am bisexual and I am very clear online and through the research that I do that this is my sexuality. Also, her messages to me, like the way she wrote and thought, just seemed more feminine to me.
Best guess, as I assume you haven't been able to get a clear reasoning from the alleged, what do you think drew them to you? Like, any notable incidents? Anonymised/generalised to your liking, of course. I literally had no interactions with her that I recall. She was 1 student in a class of 600 students. Plus she came to class only about 8/25 times. MAYBE I took an exam from her and smiled "thanks!" But that's about it.
It's possible she has some sexuality issues and saw me as a confidant. I do my own research on gendesexuality and this is not unknown among my students. She also thought I was "really pretty" and may have been attracted to me. She also had no friends and may have just wanted a friend.
You know the attendance of 1 student of out 600? Students had to buy a remote control and "click-in" when they got to class so that we could track attendance.
What does your order of protection entail, exactly? Do you have a police detail protecting you at all times, or is it more along the lines of "If she tries to contact you we'll arrest her...in theory"? Stay away from (my name) at my place of home, school, business, - employment, or go within 100 yards of me - Refrain from comunication or any other contact - Refrain from assault, stalking, abuse, harassment etc. - Surrender all handguns revolvers,...other firearms, etc.
Basically if she tries to contact me again, it is no longer an issue between me and her, it is a direct violation of an agreement between her and the judge - a felony.
Oh and she already has a felony charge for the "terrorist threat" against the college, so this would be seriously bad news for her. She'd have to be especially dumb...
Sure it might be pretty dumb of her to contact you at this point, however if you look at her actions up until she hasn't really portrayed herself as being level headed. With the school, police now involved her back is up against the wall. Be safe out there. Most definitely.
When she was ROR'd I was like - "EEEP!" But I think the silence and the order of protection is a good sign that things are going to stay this way...
I'm just curious now if it will go to trial and what her sentencing will be life...if any.
She'd have to be especially dumb... Definitely psychological - even though she absolutely knew what she was doing. She admitted guilt all the time and was very savvy about what she was doing - even congratulated herself often for being so good at stalking me.
If she already has a felony charge, I think it's safe to assume it's a psychological issue and not simply her own stupidity. I sure hope she gets the proper care for herself, and you have my deepest sympathies for what you've had to go through. Ugh!
Please don't be overconfident about your safety due to the order of protection; she could do something violent against you at any time. I highly suggest you read Gavin de Becker's The Gift of Fear - it is loaded with great advice for people in your situation. Good luck. Thanks for the reading suggestion!
I am armed with much more awareness and a trusty pepper spray now. But I am certainly not taking things for granted.
Did they contact the uncle to make sure he kept his guns secure? (my assumption is her family has heard of this and secured or changed the location of them) My hope, too. But I don't know that information.
Next time I talk to the DA, I might ask about this...thanks!
Do you think it her obsession was "I want to BE you", or was it more like "I want to be WITH you?" It was more like "I want to be your best friend." shudder
Edit: I laughed several times over the chain that stemmed from this.
If you had to tell her somthing if she seen this thread, what would you want her to know? I have a lot of empathy with her because she is clearly not mentally well. I am a 5th year psychology graduate student, so I say this with confidence. I mean, she knew what she was doing and was savvy at doing it, but she couldn't stop herself and therein lies the disorder. Her mother also told the cops that she has no friends and that she was special ed in high school. So there is something there that needs to be worked out...to say the least.
So I would tell her that I hope she gets the help she clearly needs. I would tell her that I never meant for her to get arrested and have to go through this hell, but that she drove me to do it. Ideally I would like her to just get better and have some REAL friends one day. I would also tell her that I hope she finds something she enjoys doing in life - because it became very clear to me that she hated being in college.
Do you think her behavior and situation are typical for most stalkers, male or female? Do you think you would have been more or less sympathetic if your stalker had been a male, and/or if it the stalking had been more explicitly sexual in nature? I think no matter what the type of harassment, you get similar feelings of not being in control, fear, anxiety, etc. The intensity of it probably would have been a bit greater if it was more sexual - esp when I didn't know her gender. Although, when I found out her gender, I was no more or less worried about her potential to cause actual physical harm to me than I would have been if she were male. Anyone can get a firearm and use it, no matter how big or small they are or what their socialized upbringing was like. Edit: Wanted to clarify that the potential for rape was diminished by knowledge of her gender. But violence - not really.
How did u figure out who the stalker really was? I was monitoring her messages to me. She eventually got sloppy and told me about a course she was trying switch a course she was taking to a different one for the spring semester. She said she emailed the professor about it. I had to look up the course she was talking about and then emailed the professor to ask him if he did, in fact, recently receive a message from a student about trying to switch it. He confirmed, and gave the name of the student to the legal department at the college. Legal eventually told me her name and showed me her picture.
You're like Nancy Drew... I had to be. Nobody would help me!!!
Do you think that she really slipped up or do you think that maybe that was her way of "dropping hints" because she wanted you to know who she was? I have definitely thought that she might have slipped up hoping she would get caught. I mean, a year and a half of it - she had to be exhausted too, no?
Plus, she clearly wanted out of that college. She hated it. Was failing miserably. Resented everyone and everything. I don't think she wanted to be there, but didn't have the social skills to speak up about it or go about withdrawing through the proper channels...
It's also possible that she just didn't know that I was reading all of her messages. She hoped I was, but she couldn't be sure because she was sending me the messages on Facebook and I wasn't being active on there at all (I also blocked my browser from showing her that I was viewing the messages - hooray for Chat Undetected!)
How are you doing? Do you feel safe? I'm actually doing a lot better. It's been over 3 months since her arrest and I haven't received any contact from her. The order of protection gives me piece of mind. Plus knowing that she lives with her mom and has two cops for uncles helps.
Let's just say that I feel safer than I did for a whole year and a half not knowing anything about the person.
You did what I could not. Congrats! YES. She absolutely did that. She would love me one second, hate me another second.
My stalker was from a different country though, but given your experience I'm sure you understand how easy harassment is simply with an internet connection. I'm glad he never made it onshore. I never received any gifts - thank gosh! She got my address toward the end, so I think she just hadn't mustered up the courage to actually physically send anything. That's speculation though!
Did your stalker do the alternating idolize / demonize thing? Did she ever send you any gifts? Your guy sounds pretty horrible though - what did your stalker send you?!!
Thanks for sharing. Stay safe! =) Hey, thanks for your questions - all good ones!
She also had the sick idea that I was being corrupted by my friends (I have a lot of LGBT friends) - she wanted to "protect me" from their disgusting sinful behaviors. Yes, I think it was partially that. Also because of broader mental health issues, possibly because of social circumstances as a result of those issues, etc.
Do you think she was dealing with her own sexual identity crisis? She was very homophobic and fearful of me being "contaminated" by those "gross gay people you hang out with." u/Defenestrationiste explains the connection to sexuality well...
How often were the threats? Weekly in the beginning, and then progressed to daily in the last 6-8 months of it.
And when she wasn't messaging/harassing me, she was usually doing it to someone connected to me (friends, my roommate, family, etc.)
When this first started did you do anything to protect yourself? Such as defensive classes, buy a weapon, install cameras, or anything? Actually yes. I did not like the idea of getting a gun for myself (I just...can't. I hate guns for me personally. No judgment on anyone else).
But I did get bear spray/pepper spray.
It's actually illegal to carry in my town. But a lawyer friend connected me to a social worker who specially works with stalking cases through a police precinct, and she told me to get it regardless. She said "It's about protecting yourself right now. That comes first. You can explain why you had the spray later if god forbid you have to use it."
Do you think you can ever enjoy using social media sites ever again? I would assume they might make you nervous now. Yes and no. It's more about smart use of social media now. I do use things that can be anonymous - like pinterest and reddit! :)
I am completely off Facebook though. Because, well, fuck that place (see the link). hahaha.
Delete everything - contact site admins and have them delete your accounts if you can't figure out how. GET OUT OF THERE. That's a good question. But basically if they had a privacy agreement on their site and you agreed to it, I don't think they have to do anything for you.
Any suggestions for this? There is one particular site I used to use with a screen name that I had used previously and I wanted it removed. I have asked the admins twice and have not heard anything from them at all. Do they have a responsibility to do this? Am I SOL? I would search around a bit more, try to find out more about the site. Try [who.is](who.is) to get more information about the site and who owns it. Basically become a stalker. Hahaha. But yea, this will get you more info and just keep trying to contact. I had to do that and eventually go through to site owners.
Are you angry now knowing that at least one government agency recorded every single text and harassing comment, and knew exactly who this person was from the very first keystroke, yet they were unwilling to act to stop it? Hahahaha - YES!!! I was like...well fuck you NSA!! lmao. I am a huge supporter of internet privacy regardless of my situation. But Snowden's news was like a slap in the face. Thanks, government, for taking care of your citizens. Really, thanks. bahaha.
This may be a dumb question, but there wasn't a way to go the phone company and have them tell you who's number was constantly harassing you? I was always curious about that. I had my first detective on the case subpoena the phone number(s) she used. Came back with nothing attached to it.
Detective even warned me that 99% of the time phone numbers come back with the name "Mickey Mouse" or some other nonsense. Anyone can buy a pre-paid phone, pay with cash, and it's untraceable.
I was able to get her IP address though - through the emails she sent. I gave that to the cops and they said they were doing something with it. But they were really vague and elusive and it took months until finally I blew up at the detective's supervisor for someone to take me seriously. That got things moving...a little. I never got a chance to see the result of the IP subpoena because she was arrested before it went through.
What was the scariest thing that happened to you throughout this experience? Probably when I found out she had my parents address and said that she was driving down their street (most likely a lie, but I couldn't have known for sure at the time).
Also when I found out she had my address and knew the route I took to work.
I also had several weird incidents over the 1.5 years not knowing who it was in which I would think I was being followed or when someone I didn't know would start talking to me or calling me (only to find out later it was nothing). I'd always be running, hanging up, etc. I basically looked and acted like a schizophrenic, but with good reason.
Were you living alone during this time? I think that would increase my fear by so much to know a stalker knows my address and there's not even anyone who could be a witness most of the time that I'm at home. I had a roommate. But she was also being threatened (my stalker's attempts to get to me), so double whammy. My roommate has an order of protection too.
Was your stalker just a sad keyboard warrior fulfilling fantasies, or was she actually insane, and prepared to carry out her threats? It's really difficult to know. I wasn't willing to take the chance.
My gut feeling was that she felt very safe contacting me through the computer and phone - like she was untouchable - and that she most likely preferred to keep it that way.
But the more I ignored hewas not contactable, the more she threatened actual physical stalking and violence. We both worked/went to school in the same location, and she verified "hanging out in the stairwell" next to my office a lot. Sooo...yea. I also feel like it was only a matter of time...
Now that you know who she is and what she looks like, can you recall any instances in the last 1.5 years that you did see or bump into her? Anything that stands out? Only because I knew she was a student can I think back and say that yea I recognize her, but I literally have no recollection of a particular incident with her. As it was, she rarely attended class.
Honestly, I think that if none of this happened and someone asked me if I knew her (like, walked up to me "Do you know this woman?"), I would have said no.
Omg that must have been so traumatic, what was the people the stalker was contacting to get you back online replying to her? In the first 3 days of it, my friends responded like, "Who are you?" and one of my friends was even like "FUCK YOU GO AWAY" or something to that effect haha.
But once I knew that my friends were being contacted, I told my friends NOT to respond.
Only once - when I thought maybe this person is someone I know - did I have my best friend simply ask "Who is this? Are you ___?" But that was it.
Otherwise, no response from me or them.
Were you not able to establish her identity from the Facebook messages? Or was she using some fake name? She made a billion fake accounts with different emails and user names. I reported many of them - but had to stop doing that because it would delete her message whenever I reported. And I needed those to keep a record.
What's her reasoning for stalking you? Do you remember any specific experiences with her while you were her TA ? I think I might have answered your question already here.
Let me know if you want me to elaborate...
I hope this question doesn't seem out of line, but it's just the general curiosity. Was your stalker attractive? I mean, if you would have met casually, and not under these circumstance, would of you found her attractive? To me? No. To someone else maybe. But it was a crappy little college photo from the shoulders up. And she looked angry in it. Sooo...hard to even make a judgment like that.
The reason I ask, is because due to the memes, jokes, and mannurisms of the Internet, the stalker card usually gets labeled on the nerdy kid, the kid with acne, the quiet kid, etc. This may fit the bill, but I think it's a general misconception. I don't think there is a face to a stalker. But I get why you're asking. Not all stalkers are anonymous like this one, some of them are ex significant others. So at least someone loves them/finds them attractive...
Did you ever feel like your (or your friend's and family's) safety was actually in jeopardy? How serious did you take her physical threats? I couldn't take a chance with her physical threats. I took every one of them seriously, in spite of the police's general ambivalence.
When she told me she was driving down my parents street, I was actually concerned. And when she threatened the college (including specific administrators), I was actually concerned.
Did you learn any valuable lessons from this situation? (1) how to better protect my identity while still having fun and staying connected to friends online.
(2) don't trust people as much. I am a very trusting person from the start of meeting someone. And although trust wasn't really an issue with my case, the fact that this was basically a random person REALLY puts things in perspective. Like...ANYONE can be a threat. It's pretty crazy. At the same time, I have to be realistic and trust that people are generally good.
(3) how terribly, awfully behind our laws are around cyberstalking cases. it was so so difficult to get the police to do ANYTHING for me because the laws just aren't caught up to address the complexities of the internet-age.
(4) this whole experience reinforced the way I see the world and the people in it: That people have the potential for good, but that usually some failure of the system turns them into criminals, creeps, assholes, etc. I strongly believe that my stalker is a good person, but that her actions are a response to her circumstances. I hope that she finds some piece with herself and the world around her and stops hating everything/one so much.
Have you discussed your case with other colleagues? I have discussed with other colleagues.
Has anyone else at your uni been through a similar experience? According to the legal department, they never experienced a case like mine before. So probably not.
To your understanding, was this a "typical" stalking? Yes, to my knowledge her behavior was textbook "love obsession stalking" in which she thought there was some sort of relationship where there was none. The alternating between loving and hating me. The threats and not being able to control the behavior of searching for me. The thinking everything I did was because of her. All of it was typical. Edit - Typical also of someone who has some serious mental issues!
WHY? Why was it you? Did you any relationship with her other than just being a teacher? Was she attracted to you sexually? No relationship. She was just a student among many. Nothing significant about my interactions with her (I don't even remember any!).
Most likely she just wanted a friend. Maybe she was dealing with some internal homophobia too...
I'm sure they have set S.O.P. for matters like these. Were they not able to do much until a threshold of violation was crossed by the perpetrator? And also "If he's not standing in your living room with a gun pointed at your head, we can't do anything." But once I had a name, the detective was ready and willing to go arrest her. I made enough reports against her. The threat against the college was just the tip of the iceberg - it made everyone take it much more seriously.
I'm guessing you don't think it's a good idea for girls to post on /gonewild. What advice would you have for a young woman who is receiving creepy and/or threatening PMs on reddit? They use a throwaway account (an name completely disconnected from their gonewild posts - They don't post a face picture - They don't post pictures that have stuff around them that could be identifiable (e.g. a college sweatshirt...) - They never share even the vaguest of personal information.
How long has it been since the arrest and ROR happened? Has she made any attempt at contacting you? No attempts in over 3 months.
Can you give us an example of the kind of message she would send? There were literally billions. And they were typically short and random streams of consciousness.
Everything from - "You're so pretty" to "TELL YOUR THOSE GROSS GAYS TO STOP TOUCHING MY ___(my name)" to "Talk to me or I'll kill your loved ones" to just her thinking/talking about her life: coursework she had to do, her family member's comings and goings, things she was watching on TV at the time of writing to me, etc.
Taking into consideration everything she's put you, your family, and your roommate through, would you rather see her go to prison or a mental institute? Mental institute. Absolutely.
My guess would be because she never actually did anything violent. Yes, and she has 2 family members in law enforcement.
I think you might have misunderstood the OP. The cyberstalker's previous felony charge is for threatening to shoot up the school, not something that happened before she started cyberstalking the OP. This is correct. My stalker had no previous charges when she was arrested. She got the felony charge for the terrorist threat along with 20 or so counts of harassment/stalking charges.
I'd also like to point out that there were stalkers before social media existed. You are absolutely right. And this is another reason why I did this AMA. To educate people about how easy it is to be stalked.
I had two stalkers/harrassers in high-school who stalked me the old-fashioned way (figured out the routes I walked home from school). And a stalkeharrasser in college was an ex-boyfriend's friend who got my info from my ex (we did not part amicably). I actually consider myself lucky - the horror stories I have read about stalking cases are insane.
Go to police NOW. Keep a log of every unwanted contact. Link to www.reddit.com. And I'll just emphasize this - AT EVERY POINT go to the police. If she's scared to leave the house she can call 911 and they will come and take down her report in her home. I did this the first night I was threatened and scared.
He was Canadian. I would not recommend this to others.
I'm having similar issues with a creep online. He's been coming at me for months now Get offline ASAP. Remove yourself from everything. Search your name on Google, Bing, etc. including any and all screen names you have every used. Delete everything - contact site admins and have them delete your accounts if you can't figure out how. GET OUT OF THERE.
And go to your local police preccinct IMMEDIATELY and file a report. Everytime he does something -- ANYTHING -- go to the police and make a report.
I made so many reports over the 1.5 years that the cops HAD to pay attention to me eventually. PLUS, she was arrested on 22 counts because I reported so many. Making reports will only bolster your case AND protect you in the end...
Also can you please elaborate on what he is doing so I can better answer this for you...? You can also PM me.
Teenage boy makes sarcastic school shooting threat. Ends up spending months in jail. Bail set higher than rapists and murderers. Can you link to that case with the teenage boy?
Sociopath girl has history of repeated threats, including a school shooting threat with specific details on how she would carry it out. Spends two nights in jail. Also - My stalker has not had her case presented to a jury yet. The court date was postponed to August. She still has the potential to be put in jail for months on end. If I decided to talk to the news, I'm sure things would be different. But I don't want the extra attention nor do I care to ruin her life even more...I just want her to get help.
I just wanted to say congratulations on being able to start getting this resolved. Please do come back later after everything has played out in court and let us know what happened for both you and your stalker. That entire scenario sounds horrifying to put it lightly. I would love to! I'll do another AMA once I have more to tell. This could be a while though - sometimes these cases take years.
What is ROR. Released on Recognizance
